    Get PDF
This study is the first to study the lasting effects of innovation on firm profitability in Vietnam. Using a unique panel dataset for the period 2005-2015, our results show that innovators achieve higher profit in comparison with non-innovating firms. The positive effects of innovation on firm profitability are observed not only in the short term but also in the longer term. The benefits of innovation for firm profitability can be seen in higher export probability, better productivity, better access to formal credit, and the ability to secure government support, but only after innovation

Cost-effective methods for preparing ZnO nanostructures are of importance for the deployment of ZnO in many applications including n-type conduits, catalysts, nanophosphor, and optoelectronics. Herein, we present a room-temperature sol-gel method with the aid of ultrasonication to prepare white-emitting ZnO nanoparticles (NPs). X-ray diffraction and electron microscopic analyses revealed that the size and shape of ZnO NPs can be controlled simply by changing the concentration of the Zn precursor. The ZnO NPs had a broad photoluminescence emission, ranging from 450 nm to 800 nm, while their composite in PMMA matrix showed an enhancement in the red region induced by ZnO-PMMA interfacial band-bending effects. The results demonstrated herein promise a simple tool for control over size, shape, and emission of ZnO materials for diverse applications

    Get PDF
The term “Discourse Awareness” is a new concept in Vietnam. Discourse awareness, conceptualized as a classroom pedagogy, can improve students’ language capacity and has gained popularity over time. Our literature review suggested that there has been little research into this domain locally in Vietnam. This paper aims to discuss the ecology of the concept, examine its developments in Vietnamese tertiary education, and make some arguments for raising students’ discourse awareness in teaching and learning English. It introduces the literature review on discourse awareness in Vietnam, which presents an overview of the supportive role of discourse awareness development in English language teaching and learning. Findings outlined how discourse awareness-raising activities have extensively and successfully been exploited in language classrooms through teaching and learning practices, teacher education, literacy development, and maximizing the cultural competence of language learners. Since then, it is reasonable to hold a strong belief that discourse awareness can serve as an enabling tool to facilitate students’ communication

After-Fatigue Condition: A Novel Analysis Based on Surface EMG Signals

This study introduces a novel muscle activation analysis based on surface electromyography (sEMG) signals to assess the muscle's after-fatigue condition. Previous studies have mainly focused on the before-fatigue and fatigue conditions. However, a comprehensive analysis of the after-fatigue condition has been overlooked. The proposed method analyzes muscle fatigue indicators at various maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) levels to compare the before-fatigue, fatigue, and after-fatigue conditions using amplitude-based, spectral-based, and muscle fiber conduction velocity (CV) parameters. In addition, the contraction time of each MVC level is also analyzed with the same indicators. The results show that in the after-fatigue condition, the muscle activation changes significantly in the ways such as higher CV, power spectral density shifting to the right, and longer contraction time until exhaustion compared to the before-fatigue and fatigue conditions. The results can provide a comprehensive and objective evaluation of muscle fatigue and recovery, which can be helpful in clinical diagnosis, rehabilitation, and sports performance

Bulletin of the Tomsk Polytechnic University. Geo Аssets Engineering, 2023, vol. 334, no. 7, рр. 35-42. In Rus. The relevance. Well geophysics is considered as a typical method that can assist in determining the petrophysics properties of reservoirs and further location of the petroleum product-containing reservoirs. For reservoirs formed from fractured basement rock, studies on the petrophysics properties of fracture zones can contribute to the identification of petroleum products. The main aim. The study applied the cross-plotting method based on raw well-logging data to identify the possible correlation between the gamma-ray logging with well-logging including neutron porosity, sonic transient time, and bulk density in three wells (BH-433, BH-809, and BH-905) of Bach Ho field in the Cuu Long Basin, Vietnam. Methods. To deploy this study, well-logging data were integrated into formation of micro images and neutro, speed of sound, and density of the basement at the surveyed reservoir positions. Results. The results indicated that granite in the investigated zones responds to the two tight value ranges (no-oil exist zones) neutro (0,000–0,100) and speed of sound (46–64), and neutro (0,000–0,100) and density (2,375–2,750) while the value ranges deviate from 0,000–0,100, 46–64, and 2,375–2,750, respectively for neutro, speed of sound, and density are closely related to the good permeability and porosity zones (oil exist zones). Based on the findings, it can be confirmed that the cross-plotting analysis has contributed positively to the initial assessment of potential ranges of the oil reservoirs in Bach Ho field. The application of the cross-plotting method will contribute to enhancing the predictability of oil and gas in the reservoirs

In this study, the author has given different basis to build hypothesis and research models to find out the factors affecting the Vietnamese young consumer's intention to purchase upcycled fashion products. Firstly, this paper focuses on studying the relationship between attitudes and purchase intentions. Secondly, the author studies the effects of factors on attitudes and purchase intentions. The main research subjects are factors affecting Vietnamese young consumer' intention to to purchase upcycled fashion products. Hence, this research was conducted based on survey results among 400 young people aged 18 to 34 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city which are two big city in Vietnam. The authors used two statistical software, SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 20.0, to analyze the survey results. These tools help the authors analyze Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficients, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), structural equation model (SEM). The results show that there was a positive relationship between young consumers' attitudes and purchase intention in the Vietnamese context. Attitude mediates the relationship between the influencing factors and purchase intention. Moreover, the study test the impact of five main factors including environmental concern, social value, uniqueness value, perception financial risk, and perceive quality risk. The environmental concern (β = 0.337) is considered as the strongest effect on consumers' attitudes towards products. The factors such as uniqueness value (β = 0.302) as well as social value (β = 0.216) also positively affect consumers' attitudes. On the other hand, perception financial risk (β = -0.168), and perceive quality risk (β = -0.280) negatively affect consumers' attitude
